Executes an HTTP request and returns the response as a string. This method throws WebException and HttpRequestException. In the event HttpRequestException is thrown the StatusCode is sent as user defined data on the exception under the key "StatusCode".

Parameters

uri
Type: System.Uri

The URI to make the request to

requestType
Type: System.String

The request type: GET, PUT, POST

content
Type: System.String

null or the content to send with the request

timeout
Type: System.TimeSpan

Timeout for the request

proxy
Type: System.Net.IWebProxy

Proxy for the request

headers
Type: System.Collections.Generic.IDictionary<System.String, System.String>

null or any headers to send with the request
